How we know this — and what it means for you
A heat pump warms the cabin far more efficiently than the resistive heater it replaced, and in cold weather that can be the difference between losing a quarter of your range and losing far less. Tesla added it with the Model 3’s 2021 refresh, which started production around September 14, 2020 — so cars sold and titled as ‘2020’ split into two groups depending on when they were built.
